Dietary changes and supplements for the autism treatment is controversial

AUTISM TREATMENT

Autism Treatment includes:
  • Change in behavior.
  • Communication therapy.
  • Dietary changes.
  • Medication.

Behavior Modification

There  different methods of changing behavior, which is used for the treatment of bad behavior, repetitive and aggressive in patients with autism, and provide the skills necessary to function in their environment. Most behavior modification based on the theory that behavior rewarded is likely to be repeated that the behavior will be ignored. This theory is called applied behavior analysis (ABA). behavior modification is often associated with the activities of well-structured skills, which are based on the patient’s needs and interests. It usually requires an intensive, one-to-one therapist training and broad participation of the caregiver. Sensory integration therapy is a form of behavior modification that focuses on helping patients cope with autistic sensory stimuli. Therapy can be seen the patient to manage the different textures, or listen to different voices.

COMMUNICATION THERAPY
Communication in autistic patients treated with care and are unable to communicate verbally, or to initiate language development of children with the disorder. Speech therapy can help patients to get the ability to speak. Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS), in order to communicate with autistic patients using images that represent ideas, objects or activities. The patient is able to forward the requests, needs and desires of others simply to sell the image.

Dietary  changes

Autism is not caused by diet and using dietary changes and supplements for the treatment of disease is controversial. Changes in diet or adding vitamin supplements may improve digestion and eliminate food intolerances or allergies that may contribute to behavioral problems in autistic patients. The researchers found high levels of protein in wheat, oats and rye (gluten) and casein (protein in dairy products) by-products in patients with autism, suggesting that incomplete fracture or excessive consumption of these substances can affect brain function. Eliminating foods containing gluten and casein from the diet can cause side effects and should not be done without the advice of a health care professional.
